PURPOSE: A modified polypropylene resin composition having improved melt tension and excellent foaming property is provided. A foam obtained by extruding and foaming the resin composition is also provided. CONSTITUTION: The modified polypropylene resin composition is produced by melting and mixing (a) a mixed resin consisting of 80 to 99 parts by weight of polypropylene having the weight average molecular weight greater than 300,000 g/mol and melt index of 0.1 to 10 g/10 minutes at 230 deg.C and 1 to 20 parts by weight of high viscosity and low density polyethylene having the weight average molecular weight greater than 500,000 g/mol and melt index of 0.1 to 0.5 g/10 minutes at 230 deg.C, (b) 0.5 to 10 parts by weight of an ethylene-propylene block copolymer having the weight ratio of ethylene/propylene being 50/50 - 90/10, (c) 0.05 to 10 parts by weight of a multifunctional monomer, and (d) 0.005 to 5 parts by weight of an organic peroxide wherein the amounts of (b) to (d) is based on 100 parts by weight of the mixed resin. |
