The invention relates to a method for the production of a number of pressure sensors (10) in one unit (12), whereby each pressure sensor (10) is provided with at least one recess on the one side thereof and, on the opposing side, with sensitive elements (20). The unit (12) is produced by means of the cutting of a metal bar (24), in particular made from stainless steel, which is then subjected to a moulding process. As a result of the application of free forming or compression moulding as the moulding process for the metal bar (24) (rotary swaging, drawing) and then finally individual stress-free annealing of the separate units (12) from the metal bar (24), it has been shown that the fibre orientation through to the middle of the metal bar remains essentially parallel and the stresses introduced as a result of said moulding process prove to be very homogeneous and thus small in value. In particular in comparison with conventional techniques, no microstructural changes in the boundary region of the metal bar occur.
