PURPOSE: A method for driving a plasma display panel is provided to improve the efficiency and the lifetime of the plasma display panel by floating a data electrode during a sustain period. CONSTITUTION: A driving method of a plasma display panel includes an address period for selecting a discharge cell and a sustain period for receiving a sustain pulse. In the driving method, a discharge condition of the address period is set up to generate the address discharge when the voltage more than a half of sustain pulse voltage is applied to the discharge cell. In the driving method, a process for supplying the scan pulse of negative polarity to the first electrode of an upper substrate during the address period and a process for supplying a data pulse to an address electrode of a lower substrate in order to be synchronized with the scan pulse. |
