The scaffolding assembly consists of frame sections with horizontal members (3) and uprights (10) that join together with the upper end of one upright fitting into the lower end of the one above it. The inserted end of a lower upright fits against a thrust surface (14) formed by the end of a horizontal member passing through the upper upright. The interlocking ends of the two uprights have holes (7, 8) through them for optional locking pegs.
