An exhaust heat recovery system which recovers exhaust heat produced from a generator for utilization in hot water supply and air conditioning, and whic h is high in energy efficiency despite lowered costs. The exhaust heat recover y system comprises an exhaust heat recovering heat exchanger (HEX1) for effecting heat exchanging between exhaust gas produced from a generator and a heating medium used for circulation to heat the heating medium, a storage ta nk (13) for temporarily storing a heating medium, and an atmospheric vent pipe (41) to allow air in the tank (13) to vent to atmosphere.
