摘要 A method for optical distance measurement in vehicles. Preferably, monitoring systems are arranged on the front point of junction of the roof liner or directly on the windscreen since this positional is optimally suited for monitoring the passenger compartment and the vehicle environment. One problem, however, is that this point of the vehicle can heat up intensely as a result of the sun's rays. As a result, reliability and service life of the optical, electronic systems are reduced. The invention relates to a method for active optical distance measurement in a vehicle by means of an optical sensor arrangement consisting of a light transmitter and an associated receiver which is synchronized with the light transmitter. The light transmitter scans the field of vision of the sensor arrangement with a variable data repetition rate. The invention is characterised in that the data repetition rate is dependent upon modification of the contents of successive images. The invention is particularly suitable for the operation of a distance measurement device in the region of the windscreen of a motor vehicle.
