PURPOSE: A turbo decoding method and an apparatus for the same are provided to generate turbo codewords each clock and reduce a turbo decoding time by using an input buffer having a storage unit corresponding to fourfold of a learning period. CONSTITUTION: A turbo decoding device includes a buffer(302) and a turbo decoder(304). The buffer is used for recovering received deinterleaved bit stream to original codewords and storing the recovered codewords according to addresses. The turbo decoder is used for reading and decoding the codeword unit stored in one address. The buffer has the fourfold depth to store the codewords. A control portion(305) outputs one codeword from the codewords stored in one address according to one reference clock.
