A polypeptide having an amino acid sequence of 6−phosphogluconate dehydrogenase (hereinafter abbreviated as GND) originating in a microorganism belonging to the genus Corynebacterium, which is derived from the amino acid sequence represented by SEQ ID NO:1 by the substitution of the amino acid residue(s) corresponding to the amino acid(s) at the 158th position and/or the 361st position, and having a GND activity; a DNA encoding this polypeptide; a recombinant DNA having this DNA; a transformant having this recombinant DNA; a microorganism having the above DNA on its chromosome; and a process for producing a useful substance characterized by culturing the above transformant or the above microorganism in a medium.
