The mixing chamber (30) for particles and air lies below the centrifugal rotor (2) axis in the operational position of the blasting unit (1). The introduction channel slants up towards the axis from below, into the rotor chamber (22). The compressed air is blasted into the mixing chamber, essentially in the direction of the introduction channel (31). The introduction channel section (31') inside the casing is slightly curved such that its free end terminates just ahead of the radially inner edge of the rotor blades.
