PURPOSE: A device of interfacing data to a UTOPIA level-1 interface device from a UTOPIA level-2 interface device is provided to change data and control signals of the UTOPIA level-2 interface device into data and control signals of the UTOPIA level-1 interface device, thereby enabling the UTOPIA level-2 interface device to deliver the data to the UTOPIA level-1 interface device. CONSTITUTION: A parity converter(100) receives parity bits for 16-bit data, generates the first and the second 8-bit parity bits, and transmits the data according to synchronization of start cell signals. A data converter(200) receives the 16-bit data, converts the data into the first and the second 8-bit data, and transmits the data according to the synchronization. A control signal converter(300) receives cell valid signals to transmit the signals to a UTOPIA level-1 interface device, receives an approval response signal from the UTOPIA level-1 interface device, and transmits the signal to a UTOPIA level-2 interface device. The control signal converter(300) receives the start cell signals, and transmits the signals to the UTOPIA level-1 interface device.
