PURPOSE: A barrier rib material of a PDP and a method for manufacturing barrier ribs are provided to achieve improved formability of barrier ribs, while allowing the formed barrier ribs to have a high aspect ratio. CONSTITUTION: A barrier rib material comprises a green sheet(60) having a composition of ZnO-B2O3-MgO-SiO2-BaO, or ZnO-B2O3-MgO-SiO2-BaO+TiO2. The composition contains 10 to 40 weight% ZnO, 5 to 35 weight% B2O3, 10 to 32 weight% MgO, 10 to 35 weight% SiO2, and 0 to 18 weight% BaO. A method for manufacturing barrier ribs, comprises a step of forming a green sheet having the composition; a step of bonding the green sheet on a substrate; and a step of forming barrier ribs by pressing a mold with a barrier rib-shaped groove onto the green sheet. |
