<p>The present invention is directed to a folding knife (10) comprising a handle (12) and a blade (16) joined to the handle (12). The handle (12) is formed of a single piece of material, and the blade (16) includes a cutting edge (70). In one embodiment, the knife includes a guard (18) coupled to the handle (12). The guard (18) is spaced from a perimeter of the handle. When the blade (16) is in a closed position, the guard (18) covers the cutting edge (70). In another embodiment, the knife further includes a movable gate (14) that selectively closes an opening in the handle. In yet another embodiment, the knife handle further includes a handle (12) with a cantilevered locking arm (28) and a blade (16) with a locking notch (62). When the blade is in an open position, the locking arm (28) contacts the locking notch (62) to secure the blade in the open position until the locking arm (28) is moved by a user's hand.</p> |
