A measuring equipment (10) inserts a measuring ball (30) into the hole (22A) of a work (22) by lowering an arm (36) and lowers the measuring ball (30) along the depth direction of the hole (22A) and then detects the back pressure of compressed air at a plurality of positions by means of an A/E converter (18). The detected value is compared with the reference value of a master at a control section (20) and expressed in terms of the inside diameter of the hole (22A) thus measuring the shape of various holes.
