Battery group (10) has several unit cells (11-18) connected in series, such that cell (18) is low capacitance unit cell with low capacitance rating. Discrimination unit determines whether cell (18) is fully charged, by detecting voltage and temperature of the cell when charged by charger (100). A microcomputer (60) outputs charging stop signal to charger, when the cell (18) is fully charged.
