ARTICLE AND PROCESS FOR CLEANING OPTICAL SURFACES

An article (10) and process for cleaning relatively inaccessible and recessed surfaces, including a shaft (12) having a first end opposite a second end with a cleaning head assembly (16), including a movable strip (70) of buffing material, at the first end of the shaft (12). The article (10) has an actuator (14) at the second end of the shaft (12); and a connector (22) coupling the cleaning head assembly (16) to the actuator (14) to move the movable strip (70) during positional change of the actuator (14). Repeated positional change of the actuator (14) produces reciprocatory movement in the movable strip (70) of buffing material to produce a rubbing, cleaning action of the material against a recessed surface.
