REMOTE POINTING INPUT METHOD AND APPARATUS

PURPOSE: A remote pointing input method and apparatus are provided to interactively select various menus supplied from webs in a display device capable of web-surfing at a remote distance. CONSTITUTION: A remote pointing apparatus includes a plurality of infrared ray emitting devices(120), a remote controller(110), and a display(130). The infrared ray emitting devices recognize a reference point at a specific position of a screen. The remote controller generates pointing laser and infrared ray at the specific position of the screen and takes the infrared ray emitted from the plurality of infrared ray emitting devices and infrared ray at a pointing position to generate a video signal and key information. The display generates reference point infrared ray to the plurality of infrared ray emitting devices when the remote controller inputs pointing laser and infrared ray, and calculates pointing position point on the basis of the infrared video signal and key information generated by the remote controller.
