PURPOSE: An apparatus for processing a video signal of a plasma display panel is provided to remove false contour noise by adding equalization pulses to data. CONSTITUTION: A memory(6) is used for storing a lookup table including weight. The first delay portion(12) delays the first gray value of video data including motion information. A display image generation portion(10) receives the video data and extracts the second gray value of a current cell from the memory. A subtracter(13) calculates the third gray value by subtracting the second gray value from the first gray value. A maximum compensation value detector(14) calculates a maximum compensation value. A compensation value decision portion(16) receives the third gray value and the maximum compensation value and outputs a small value of the third gray value and the maximum compensation value. |
