APPARATUS FOR PREHEATING SLAB AND KEEPING TEMPERATURE OF SLAB WAITING FOR ROLLING PROCESS

PURPOSE: An apparatus is provided to prevent a slab from being cooled during a rolling process by preheating the slab to keep a temperature of the slab waiting for the rolling process when the rolling process is stopped. CONSTITUTION: A heat insulation cover(10) is provided to cover a slab positioned on a roller table waiting for a rolling process. The heat insulation cover(10) is formed at an inner portion thereof with heat insulation material(11) in order to prevent heat of the slab from being dispersed. A plurality of semicircular slots(12) are formed at both sides of the heat insulation cover(10). A heating burner(14) and a temperature detecting sensor(15) are installed in the heat insulation cover(10). A pair of supporting members(24) are fixedly installed at a floor and a rotating support block(25) is mounted on each supporting member(24).
