PURPOSE: A drum brake for a vehicle is provided to improve brake power by efficiently dispersing friction force inside a drum and to inform the replacing time of a brake lining by contacting an abrasion-detecting pin with the drum when the brake lining is worn. CONSTITUTION: A drum brake for a vehicle is composed of a back plate(1), which is fixed to a vehicle shaft, being at right angel at one side toward an outer diameter and having a plurality of receptive grooves(11) to be mutually symmetrized; brake shoes(3), which are housed in each receptive groove of the back plate, forming a circular arc shaped outer peripheral surface, attaching linings(5) on the outer peripheral surface, and having a metal pin(32) under the lining; wheel cylinders(7) connected by a connecting pipe(71) to be expansion-moved to the outside by the hydraulic pressure of a master cylinder and stuck to a drum when the brake shoe steps on a pedal; and a return spring(6) formed between rectangular surfaces(12) of the receptive grooves of the back plate and the brake shoe to return the brake shoe moved by the hydraulic pressure of the wheel cylinder after generating friction energy.
