The rapid clamping cylinder is freed from dirt and swarf remnents during tool and workpiece changes by a compressed air distribution system thus ensuring correct cylinder relief. Air is blown out through bores (19,24,25) as well as transverse bores to clean off both cylinder surface and pallet bearing face, using bores (24,25) to below the contact islets (35) relative the pallet so as thus to pre-clean pallet etc prior to cylinder relief. Holes (24,35) concentrate the blow-off effect to the pallet transfer surfaces at clamping locations. A round slot in the cylinder cap leads into an axial bore and so over to a second cap slot behind a radial bore ringed Seger ring (20) and ejection bores (19). The cap fixer screw hole runs vertically through the cap slot specified and all bores are joined to longitudinal bore (28) which issues all round the screw and is linked to the cap slot and so right up to the surface of the clamping cylinder.
|
