The electrical lighting unit has a cylindrical housing (1) that contains electrical circuitry and is terminated at one end by a socket (3) that has an external thread that screws into a housing. The housing is enclosed by a disc shaped cover plate secured by a number of formed features that engage with other features (5a,5b) formed internally in the housing. The features are such that lugs enter guide slots and when fully inserted the cover can be turned to lock the cap in position.
