PURPOSE: A phone number managing method of a radio terminal is provided to facilitate managing of phone numbers and effectively use a memory by transmitting and receiving a phone number management message through a different terminal of a remote area or a network. CONSTITUTION: A controller checks whether a message for managing phone numbers is received(300). If a message for managing phone numbers is received, the controller detects an authentication data from the received management message(310). If the detected authentication data is identical to a previously stored authentication data, the controller checks whether the received management message is for storing(320). If the received management message is for storing, the controller searches a memory included in a terminal for an empty address among addresses allocated for storing phone numbers(330). The controller checks whether the received phone number management message is for deleting(340). If the received phone number management message is for deleting, the controller detects a phone number, a name or an address of the data desired to be deleted from the received management message and checks whether there is the same phone number among the phone numbers stored in its own memory(350). The controller checks whether the received phone number management message is for searching(360). If the received phone number management message is for searching, the controller detects a content included in the management message and checks whether there is a corresponding phone number in the memory(370). If the received phone number management message is for updating a phone number(380), the controller updates the phone number stored in the memory according to the received management message(390).
