PURPOSE: A methanol impermeable electrolyte membrane, its preparation method and a fuel cell containing the electrolyte membrane are provided, wherein the membrane is a methanol impermeable electrolyte membrane used in a direct methanol fuel cell for improving the performance of a fuel cell. CONSTITUTION: The methanol impermeable electrolyte membrane is such that an inorganic membrane comprising 40-80 parts by weight of a binder; and 20-60 parts by weight of at least one inorganic material selected from the group consisting of aluminium oxide powder, fumed silica powder, zeolite powder, titanium oxide powder, barium titanate (BaTiO3) powder and molecular sieve structured inorganic powder, is intercalated between two perfluorosulfonic acid membranes. Preferably the inorganic membrane has a thickness of 30-150 micrometers, and the perfluorosulfonic acid membrane has a thickness of 25-200 micrometers. |
