摘要 PURPOSE: A cross field switching mode LCD for improving the transmissivity and the after-image is provided to dispose counter electrodes and pixel electrodes vertically for applying a voltage of an equal polarity to the overlapping branches of the electrodes while applying voltage of the opposite polarity to the neighboring branches. CONSTITUTION: In a cross field switching mode LCD for improving the transmissivity and the after-image, first branches(14a,14b) of counter electrodes and second branches(18a,18b) of pixel electrodes are disposed vertically, wherein odd numbered branches of the electrodes are connected to each other and even numbered branches of the electrodes are connected to each other. Either the odd or even numbered first and second branches are electrically connected to common bus lines(13) and the others are electrically connected to thin film transistors, so that the overlapping first and second branches are applied with a voltage of an equal polarity and simultaneously cross fields are generated among neighboring branches of the counter and pixel electrodes.
