PURPOSE: To provide a disk cartridge which enables miniaturization thereof while maintaining necessary reliability and handleability. CONSTITUTION: Opening parts 7a, 7b which are penetrated into a disk space 11 are disposed on one part of the surface forming the breadth of the disk cartridge 1 and the disk cartridge is constituted in such a manner that W1 is nearly equal to D1, wherein, W1 is the breadth of the disk cartridge 1 and D1 is the outside diameter of the disk 5. A projection part is disposed on the surface adjoining the surface on which the opening parts 7a, 7b are disposed and in the vicinity of the opening parts 7a, 7b in order to reinforce the lowering of the rigidity due to the opening parts 7a, 7b.
