PURPOSE: An apparatus and a method for monitoring electric power of a vehicle are provided to reduce the power consumption by indicating a state of a battery to a driver under the low voltage. CONSTITUTION: A method for monitoring electric power of a vehicle includes a sampling process(1), a calculation process(2), a comparison process(3), a result display process(4), and an interval counting process(5). The sampling process(1) is performed to obtain a sampled voltage values by sampling a power transistor for discharging a battery of the vehicle. The calculation process(2) is performed to obtain an average value of the sampled voltage values. The comparison process(3) is performed to compare an alarm value to the average value. The result display process(4) is performed to display a result value and generate an alarm signal if the result value approaches an alarm value. The interval counting process is to perform a counting operation during a predetermined period.
