The articulated joint consists of two hinge components (1) of a synthetic material or a light metal alloy fitted into the facing ends of the scaffolding rail bars (3) and joined together by a U-section bracket (5) with two side plates (29) and a crosspiece (27). The side plates have lugs (31) with holes for bolts (37) inserted through the lugs bars and hinge components. The overlapping ends of the hinge components have holes for a hinge pin (7) passing through central holes in the bracket and held in place by a wire loop (23).
