PURPOSE: An intake system is provided to increase volumetric efficiency of engine and achieve improved engine performance by increasing the air flowing into the cylinder. CONSTITUTION: An intake system comprises a surge tank(S) arranged in an intake manifold(M) connected to an air cleaner so as to uniformly distribute air; and a resonator(R) having an extended pipe arranged between intake runners(IR) for connecting combustion chambers of an engine(E). The resonator has an end connected to an inlet line(10) communicated to the surge tank through the first valve(10') which opens/shuts by the negative pressure of the surge tank, and the other end connected to an outlet line(20) communicated to the intake runner through the second valve(20') which opens/shuts in accordance with the operation of an intake valve(V1).
