PURPOSE: A method for breeding Zenith lawn using Agrobacterium sp. is provided, thereby cheaply breeding the Zenith lawn having anticipatable character and pesticide resistance within a short period of time. CONSTITUTION: A method for breeding Zenith lawn using Agrobacterium sp. comprises the steps of: peeling seeds, followed by sterilization with ethanol and HgCl2; culturing the pretreated seeds in a medium selected from MS medium, N6AA medium and NP medium containing 2,4-D to select an embryo developed callus; inserting a plasmid vector containing a bar gene having pesticide resistance and GUS gene into Agrobacterium sp.; co-culturing the embryo developed callus and Agrobacterium sp. containing the plasmid vector harboring the bar gene and the GUS gene in MS medium containing 2,4-D and acetosyringone; transferring the co-cultured embryo developed callus into MS medium containing 2,4-D, BA, Cu, PPT and cefotaxime and selecting a transgenic embryo developed callus; and transferring the transgenic embryo developed callus into a medium for regeneration and regenerating it into a young plant, wherein the Agrobacterium sp. is Agrobacterium tumefaciens strains LBA4404.
