A method of reading a medium judgment program recorded on an information recording medium (1) is disclosed. The program causes a computer to judge whether the medium (1) is authorized. The judgment may be based on obtaining information on a unique value preformed in a wobbling groove in the medium (1) in regard to each of the media. If the computer determines on the basis of the unique value (S9, S10, S18, S19, S20, S21) that the information recording medium is right or authorized, the program permits the computer to reproduce a main program (S15). The main program is different to the medium judgment program. If the computer determines that the information recording medium is wrong or unauthorized, the computer is prohibited from reproducing the main program (S16).
