PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a polyurethane for a cover material for a golf ball, having high impact resilience and little change of the impact resilience caused by a temperature change. SOLUTION: The silicone-modified thermoplastic polyurethane resin for a cover material for a golf ball is obtained by reacting an active hydrogen- containing polysiloxane and a chain extender with a polyisocyanate and is characterized by containing the polysiloxane component of 4-80 wt.% in the polyurethane.
