PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an apparatus for serving food and drink, which allows a state of conveyance of the food and the drink to be inexpensively grasped in real time. SOLUTION: Characteristically, this apparatus for serving the food and the drink, which conveys the food and the drink to a room 42 for customers so as to serve them to the customers, is equipped with a conveyor 1 which is extended to the inside of the room 42 from a kitchen 46 so as to convey a container 20, a discrimination means 2 for discriminating the container 20 which is conveyed by the conveyor 1, a plurality of passage detecting means 4 which are arranged at prescribed intervals along the conveyance direction of the conveyor 1 so as to detect the passage of the container 20, and a control means 6 which is connected to the means 2 and 4; and the control means 6 renews information about the discrimination and position of the container 20 during the conveyance, in accordance with detected information which is obtained from the means 2 and 4.
