LAMINATED WATER-RESISTANT PAPER IMPARTING BEAUTIFUL PRINTED MATTER

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide laminated water-resistant paper also excellent in offset printability while having high gloss and imparting beautiful printed matter. SOLUTION: Linear low density polyethylene (SS-LLDPE) synthesized using a single site type catalyst is laminated to at least one surface of a paper substrate material so as to come into contact therewith. Since this laminated water- resistant paper imparts an extremely smooth surface having no fine dents remaining heretofore by high gloss treatment, when printing is applied to the surface of the laminated water-resistant paper, beautiful finish is obtained and beautiful printed matter having no blank is obtained even in offset printing. From a viewpoint of high glossiness and surface strength, it is preferable to laminate a polypropylene layer on the SS-LLDPE layer. COPYRIGHT: (C)2003,JPO
