<p><P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To surely decompose propionic acid, to prevent the acid from remaining and to realize stable treatment with heavy load when organic discharged water is subjected to anaerobic treatment. <P>SOLUTION: When organic discharged water is subjected to anaerobic treatment, anaerobic reaction tanks 2, 3 having biological films or granules formed in the tanks are disposed in series to carry out the heavy load treatment to render the concentration of propionic acid in the treated water in an anaerobic reaction tank 2 in the first stage to≥300 mg/L, and then to treat the treated water in an anaerobic reaction tank 3 in the second stage. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2003,JPO</p> |
