PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method for replacing and inspecting an operation check switch for a passenger conveyor having a wheelchair carrier capable of reducing working time and facilitating installation of the switch. SOLUTION: In this method for replacing and inspecting the operation check switch 21 used in conveyance of a wheelchair on wheelchair conveying special steps 10, 11, and 12 in the passenger conveyor having wheelchair conveying ability, a simplified step 30 having all the operation checking metal fittings 31A-31C for the special steps and installable with reference to a rail, on which the special steps 10-12 of the passenger conveyor move, is positioned in the operation check switch 21 operating position.
