PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a multi-stage lifter for a food container which can save an installation space in a factory, easily take out side dishes from the food container, automatically elevate the heavy food container with side dishes stored therein, save labors, and contribute to the improvement of the working efficiency. SOLUTION: Supporting bodies 3 and elevating/lowering bodies 4 disposed at diagonal positions are provided, and a pair of two movable locking claws 6 and 6 which can be locked to a mouth edge part 21a of the food container 21 are disposed in a plurality of stages with predetermined spaces at inner front and back parts of the supporting bodies 3 so that only the locking claws 6a and 6b on the highest stage have a step 1 with a front side lower and a back side higher, and other locking claws 6c and 6d located on lower stages are horizontal. A pair of two movable locking claws 11 and 11 which can be locked to a mouth edge part of the food container are disposed in a plurality of stages with predetermined spaces at inner front and back parts of the elevating/lowering bodies 4 so that the locking claws 11 and 11 on each stage are horizontal, and a driving device 5 to simultaneously elevate/lower each elevating/lowering body 4 is provided.
