PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a moving mechanism for paper standards 5 making the paper standards 5 movable to effectively prevent the generation of trouble such as binding failure or the like. SOLUTION: In the stapler wherein magazine parts 1 provided so as to make magazines movable in a staple striking-out direction with respect to driver units having driver plates 8 and clincher parts 2 receiving the staples struck out by the driver plates 8 to bent them are arranged in opposed relationship in a separated state and the driver plates are relatively moved by pressing the magazines by the clincher parts 2 to move them to strike out the staples in the magazines toward clinchers, the paper standards 5 receiving the surfaces of papers 15 to be bound are arranged to the side parts of the magazine parts 1 at positions becoming almost flush with the upper end surfaces of the magazines so as to be moved in integrated relation to the magazines.
