PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method for preparing slaked lime emulsion in which the deposition of scales in tanks and transfer piping for preparing the slaked lime emulsion is prevented, and to provide a method for producing vinylidene chloride using the slaked lime emulsion. SOLUTION: The method for preparing the slaked lime emulsion by mixing quicklime with water comprises using the water that is preliminarily subjected to magnetic field treatment. In addition, the method for producing vinylidene chloride in which the slaked lime emulsion prepared by mixing quicklime with water is used for dehydrochlorination reaction of trichloroethane to produce vinylidene chloride comprises using the water that is preliminarily subjected to magnetic field treatment.
