PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an elevator air conditioner for an elevator capable of securing a necessary space above a car having a small configurational dimension and preventing displacement of an air conditioner body due to a vibration or the like. SOLUTION: This air conditioner for the elevator is provided with a hinge mechanism 9 supporting the air conditioner body 7 rotationally so that at least a part of the air conditioner body is positioned on the outside of the car configurational dimension from a predetermined position, a fixing means 10 fixing the air conditioner body 7 in the predetermined position, and a returning means 11 returning the turned air conditioner body 7 to the predetermined position. If necessary, the air conditioner body 7 is turned to the outside of the car configurational dimension via the hinge mechanism 9 for securing a space, and usually, the air conditioner body 7 is fixed by the fixing means 10 to be prevented from moving. While the car 1 travels, the air conditioner body 7 is surely returned to the predetermined position by means of the returning means 11. COPYRIGHT: (C)2003,JPO
