PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a charging type electric vacuum cleaner in which accommodation characteristics upon charging is improved and an utility is improved. SOLUTION: A cleaner body 1 incorporates an electric blower 2 and a secondary battery for driving the electric blower and includes a hose 3 having one end connected to the body 1 and an extension pipe 4 connected to the other end of the hose 3 and a suction means 5 and a charging base 6 on which the body 1 is mounted to electrify the secondary battery 7. In the hose 3, a reinforcing wire rod 9 is spirally wound. When the cleaner is not used, the hose 3 is always urged to be contracted by the reinforcing wire rod 9 and expansible longitudinally.
