PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To prevent the liquid ink or washing liquid which is bonded to a printing plate cylinder or coating roll rotated during the washing of the printing plate cylinder or coating roll during or after operation, in an ink supply pan from scattering to the outside of the ink supply pan as splash ink. SOLUTION: In the liquid ink scattering preventing device of the printing/ coating machine, the liquid ink 20 is put in the ink supply pan 3, and a cylinder 1 such as the printing plate cylinder, the coating roll or the like is immersed in the liquid ink to be rotated. A sheet S to be printed or coated is introduced into the nip between the cylinder 1 and an impression cylinder 2 under predetermined pressure while scraping off the ink bonded to the peripheral surface of the cylinder 1 by a doctor 4 and fed to be printed or coated. An automatic take-up type long sheet 7 for preventing the scattering of the splash ink 20a is provided at least, between the rear side of the ink supply pan on the downstream side in the rotary direction of the under peripheral surface of the cylinder 1, and the doctor provided above the rear side of the ink supply pan under tension.
