PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To be able to shorten a casting cycle in a device and a method capable of melting and supplying a required amount of metal material for each casting. SOLUTION: The device is provided with a material supply mechanism 851 supplying a metal material at each one casting to a container 330 for melting the metal material located on the fixed position against a sleeve 360. This material supply mechanism 851 has a storage section 60 storing the metal material, a measuring section 70 feeding the metal material by the amount required for one-time casting from the storage section 60, a gas supply source 66 supplying an inert gas to the storage section 60 to place the metal material under the inert gas atmosphere, and a gas heating device 930 heating the inert gas supplied from the gas supply source 66 to previously heat the stored metal material into the temperature within a range where the metal material is not molten.
