<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an easily and surely insertable catheter which can prevent the tip of a stylet from damaging a vascular wall and can prevent the catheter in a bending direction of the stylet and the catheter on an operator side from shaking during insertion. <P>SOLUTION: The stylet 5 comprises a wire-shaped stylet body 6 which consists of a torque transmittable material capable of orienting its distal end within the blood vessel and has a crooked portion 6a comprising a synthetic resin at least for the surface at its distal end, a control section 7 which is fixed with the base end 6b of the stylet body 6, and vaned guiding means 8 which is disposed engageably with the control section 7 and can fix, during engagement, the crooking direction of the distal end of the stylet body to the direction facing at this time.
