PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a manufacturing method for a moisture absorbing/desorbing construction material having excellent absorbing/desorbing performance and high strength, and provide the moisture absorbing/desorbing construction material obtained by the method. SOLUTION: In the manufacturing method for the moisture absorbing/ desorbing construction material, a deliquescent substance, a powder of a porous inorganic material, and a powder of glass are blended and molded, and then the obtained molding is burned at a temperature not lower than the softening point of glass and cooled to be solidified.
