PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain a cassette type printer in which replacing work of a roll sheet and maintaining work of each part are facilitated while enhancing the operability of required operations and high print quality is sustained. SOLUTION: A cassette 203 having a sheet holding part 206 and a platen 207 can be inserted ejectably into a body case 201, a print head 204 facing the platen 207 is sprung up while being drawn out as the cassette 203 is drawn out and the print head 204 is contained as the cassette 203 is pushed in. A sheet guide part 213a regulates movement of a roll sheet in the widthwise direction at the parts 212 and 214a for guiding the sheet while bending between the sheet holding part 206 and the print head 204.
