PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a bottom hot zone structure in which stable growth yield of 70% or more is obtained in Cz-growth of the single crystal of lithium tantalate. SOLUTION: The hot zone (the bottom hot zone) around the crucible composed of Ir is used when a single crystal is grown. The hot zone is constituted of the crucible composed of Ir, a hollow spherical zirconia bubble, a cotton- shaped fiber flux mainly composed of SiO<SB>2</SB>, and a CP crucible of a formed product mainly composed of Al<SB>2</SB>O<SB>3</SB>. The bulk density of the zirconia bubble is made in a range of 1.0-1.1 g/cm<SP>3</SP>and the bulk density of the fiber flux is made in a range of 0.45-0.6 g/cm<SP>3</SP>. COPYRIGHT: (C)2003,JPO
