PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a lining for packaging a writing instrument with which the instrument is prevented from rattling inside a packaging box to get damaged, and a mount with the lining placed thereon. SOLUTION: The lining for packaging a writing instrument comprises a rectangular lining material plate 1 which is folded into an approximately chevron-shaped cross section along a crease 16a parallel to both longitudinal sides so that the writing instrument (a) is put in the valley. The material plate 1 is formed with a first cut 11, a second cut 12, a third cut 13 and a fourth cut 14 which cross the crease 16a. A portion between the third cut 13 and the fourth cut 14 is louvered and curved to form an opening through which a shaft a2 of the writing instrument (a) can be passed. In addition, a portion between the first cut 11 and the second cut 12 is louvered and curved to form an opening through which only a tip a1 of the writing instrument (a) can be passed. A length between the first cut 11 and the second cut 12 is formed in such a size that the tip a1 is covered, and an opening area on a side of the first cut 11 is made larger than an opening area on a side of the second cut 12.
