PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an electric vacuum cleaner in which the deterioration of a cleaning efficiency as a circulation type cleaner can be prevented. SOLUTION: Inlet air is sucked from an inlet port 117 of a floor brush 111 by driving an electric fan housed in a motor case part 14 of a cleaner body 12. Dust sucked together with the inlet air swirling in a dust collecting cup 84 is dropped and separated by a self-weight in the dust collecting cup 84. The inlet air is changed to exhaust air by the electric vacuum cleaner. The exhaust air is exhausted from the floor brush 111 and circulated to the inlet port of the floor brush 111. The dust collected in the dust collecting cup 84 hardly becomes a vent resistance, so that circulation air volume hardly decreases. Deterioration in the prevention of the floor brush 111 from sticking to a floor surface or the dust releasing action of the floor surface by circulation air, which are advantages of the circulation type cleaner, can be prevented.
