REDUCTION ROLL SUPPORTING APPARATUS

PURPOSE: A reduction roll supporting apparatus is provided to facilitate centering of the roll for grinding process and prevent necks of the roll from being damaged by friction with supporting metal provided for supporting the roll during the grinding process. CONSTITUTION: The reduction roll supporting apparatus comprises a lower housing(110) elastically mounted on a base (B), the lower housing(110) having a guide groove formed along inner circumferential surface such that a plurality of rollers are inserted therein; an upper housing having the same contour as the lower housing(110) so as to be connected therewith, the upper housing(110) having a guide groove formed along inner circumferential surface such that a plurality of rollers(122) are inserted therein; an upper and lower rotors rotatable installed along the guide grooves of the upper and lower housing for holding neck of a reduction roll; a rotor fixing means for fixing the upper and lower rotors to the upper and lower housing; and a cylinder(160) for selectively engaging or disengaging the upper and lower housing.
