DISPLAY DEVICE AND DISPLAY SYSTEM USING THE DEVICE

PURPOSE: To provide a display device in which the amount of computations of a GPU is reduced, no storage device is required to store image data equivalent to one screen and the power consumption is reduced, and to provide a display system using the display device. CONSTITUTION: The display device consists of: pixels each of which incorporates a storage circuit, an arithmetic processing circuit and a display processing circuit; and a circuit which has a function to store image data in an arbitrary storage circuit. The display system consists of the display device and an image processing device including the GPU. By the computational processes conducted by the GPU of the system, image data are formed for every video constituting element and stored in the storage circuits of the corresponding pixels. The stored image data are combined and processed with the arithmetic processing circuit of each pixel and converted into video signals in the display processing circuit.
